If your question is unusual, contact the team and we’ll point you in the right direction. 01 · FAQ ## Booking, hours & visiting The practical things to know before you arrive. Do I need to book, or can we just turn up?Booking ahead is strongly recommended if you want a guaranteed time, especially for Laser Tag, Axe Throwing, parties, functions and busy periods. Walk-ins are welcome where capacity allows, but available times can change during the day. How far in advance should I book a party?For the best choice of times, we recommend booking at least four weeks ahead. Popular weekends and school-holiday dates can fill earlier. What is your cancellation policy?For standard bookings, give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Online bookings cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice can receive a full refund. Birthday-party and Carbon Bar deposits are non-refundable, but the booking can be moved to another date with at least 48 hours’ notice. Any package-specific terms shown at booking also apply. What are your opening hours?Our hours change between school terms, school holidays and public holidays. What ages can play?Age and participation rules vary by attraction. Laser Tag is recommended for ages 5+ or players over 1 metre tall, Axe Throwing is 10+, and other activities have their own requirements. Each attraction page lists the relevant rules. What is the minimum number of players for Laser Tag?A Laser Tag game needs at least two players. Larger groups generally create a more varied game. What is the maximum number of players in Laser Tag?Up to 50 players can take part in one game. Is Laser Tag suitable for younger players?Laser Tag is recommended for ages 5+ or players over 1 metre tall. If a standard pack is too large for someone in your group, ask the team about the limited phaser-only options available for smaller players. Is my Laser Tag game exclusive?Not automatically. During busy periods we may combine groups, generally with players of a similar age. If your group needs private or exclusive play, ask about private-hire and large-group options. How long is a Laser Tag game?A standard Laser Tag game is approximately 12 minutes, plus briefing and changeover time. How many people can play Hologate VR?Up to four people can play at once, and solo play is also possible. Is Axe Throwing safe?Sessions are supervised by trained coaches. Axe Throwing is for ages 10+ and closed-toe shoes are required. Follow the coach’s instructions throughout the session. How many people can play Mini Bowling?Megazone Dunedin has two Mini Bowling lanes, with up to four players per lane. A standard booking is 10 frames. What is The Cube, and who can play?The Cube is a timed puzzle-box experience where your group works through a series of challenges together. Standard sessions are 45 minutes. It is suitable for all ages, although children under 7 should play with an older player who can help with the puzzles. Can I book more than one activity together?Yes. You can book individual attractions or choose a multi-activity package. See [Deals & Combos](/deals/) for ready-made options. 03 · FAQ ## Laser Tag game modes & equipment Useful rules for regular players, custom games and equipment issues. What happens if a vest or phaser is not working properly?Tell the team as soon as you notice a problem. We will try to fix it on the spot. If it materially affects your game, the team may extend the session, offer a replay or provide a return voucher depending on what happened and what time allows. What if the equipment was working but I was using it incorrectly?If it is a simple setup or handling issue and we can correct it quickly, the team will help you get back into the game. Any replay, extension or voucher is at the team’s discretion based on how much of the experience was affected. Can we request custom or advanced Laser Tag game modes outside events?Sometimes. Custom modes are easiest when the group is made up of members or experienced regular players and there is no general-public group joining the game. Availability depends on the session and staff on duty. Can we change the game length or major settings?Major settings such as standard game duration are not normally changed unless you have arranged a private hire. A custom game mode still counts as a full booked game. What if we try a custom game mode and the group does not enjoy it?If the group stops the mode within the first few minutes, speak to the team. Where time and scheduling allow, we may be able to restart with another mode. This is intended for genuine mismatches, not repeated mode changes. Can we play experimental or unusual game modes?Social Sunday is the best time for experimental modes and less-common game formats. At other times, the team may offer preset alternatives if the session allows. Can we still request custom games when the venue is busy?We will do what we can, but peak periods limit how much custom setup is practical. Availability is subject to there being no other bookings already on your chosen date. The further ahead that you book, the more likely you are to get the date you want. ### Do you cater food and drinks? Yes. Drink tokens, platters and pizzas can be added to all packages. We have our fully licensed Carbon Bar to provide all the cocktails and drink options that your team want. ### What's the maximum group size? Our Carbon Bar can have up to 80 people and the full facility can have up to 200 people. ### What's your cancellation policy?
