Laser Tag:

How many players do I need?

You need at least 2 players so that there is someone to shoot! If there is only you we recommend turning up to our members' nights, if you are under 12 years old.

How many people can play at a time?

We have the largest laser tag arena in the country and can comfortably fit up to 44 players at a time, provided that many suits are available.

Do I need to book?

Bookings are essential to secure your time slot. Walk in slots are subject to availability and can vary day to day. Birthday parties, bar bookings and large groups should be booked well in advance so that we have the time and staff available to cater to your requirements.

How long is each game?

Each game of laser tag is approximately 10 minutes. Please also allow for a 5 minute safety briefing that will be conducted before the first game, as well as a couple minutes between games to rest and check scores.

Will my group be put in with another group?

It is our policy to put multiple groups of people together provided they are of similar age groups (3 years or less age difference until adulthood). If you wish to have the place reserved for your group, please let staff know at the time of your booking. While we will try our best to deliver please understand this is not always possible. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the fun that is laser tag! Plus, the more people playing, the more you can shoot!
Large groups of 25 or more people will always have the arena reserved for their group.

Me and my school/community group/church group/hall are wanting to play some laser tag, do you have any deals?

Please refer to our groups page, or for smaller groups send us a message with the details of your group to see if we can sort something out for you.

What should I wear?

Any clothing that you feel comfortable and can move freely in. Closed in, flat soled (not high heeled) shoes are recommended. We take no responsibility for any injuries if you decide not to follow these recommendations.

Is there an age limit to play laser tag?

There is no age limit, though we recommend that players are at least 5 years old so they are able to enjoy the experience and operate the suit on their own. It completely depends on the child, we have had children as young as 3 enjoying themselves, but some slightly older children may not have as much fun if they are scared of the dark or loud or unfamiliar sounds.
As for an upper age limit, you are never to old to play laser tag! We have had players as old as 100 still enjoying their time in the maze.

Is laser tag safe?

Laser tag is safe to play. The lasers used are low beam and quick, and are quality and safety tested. We have safety features in place to ensure an enjoyable experience such as the hand sensors on our laser guns and lighted ramps within the maze. Megazone has a set of regulations that must be adhered to to ensure a safe and happy environment for customers and staff alike.

What game formats can we play?

Our regular game formats are Standard Team, Standard Solo, and Colour Ranked Solo.
In both Standard Team and Standard Solo the aim is to destroy as many bases and tag as many of your opposition as possible to acrue points. Colour Ranked Solo is of similar principle but the bases are turned off and the suits change colour depending on each players current ranking. We have many, many more game formats but these are usually reserved for our Members nights and other large events.

I'm pregnant/have a health issue can I still play?

Megazone takes no liability when it comes to your health. It is not recommended to play if you are pregnant because of the physical nature of the game. If you suffer from photo-sensitive epilepsy this may not be the game for you either as much of the game is based around the lasers and flashing lights. With any other health concern please ask a crew member but our general policy is that games are played at your own risk.

I have a broken arm/leg can I still play?

If you have any injury that stops use of one of your hands please let crew know. Our laser guns are operated with two hands, one holding a sensor however this sensor can be turned off if necessary. Leg injuries are more complicated, however as long as you can walk or hop unassisted and without crutches you should still be able to play. Megazone takes no responsibility for injuries caused or sustained in our facility. As with all our games laser tag is played at your own risk.

What is your policy on refunds?

Megazone does not issue refunds for change of mind or any other reason except in the occurance of a large technical error. If you have an issue with your gun or suit during the game please exit the maze and tell a crew member so we can fix the issue immediately.

Does laser tag have to be played at your onsite arena?

We also have an inflatable laser tag maze which can be hired for different events. Technically speaking, laser tag can be played in any dark area as long as there are a few obstacles to hide behind, for example we have once played laser tag in a forest. If you have an idea for an event that could be interesting feel free to send an enquiry via our contact form to see if we can sort something out.
